Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority’s
Affiliate Organizations
BUILDING BRIDGES ACROSS GENERATIONS
Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority aims to build bridges across generations through its various Affiliate Organizations: The Rhosebuds, The Rhoers, and The Philos. Affiliate membership in the Rhosebud Club is open to girls ages 8 to 11, the Rhoer Affiliate is open to girls ages 12 to 18, and the Philo Affiliate is open to adult women of any age. See below to learn more about each of these groups.
Rhoer Club
Today, young people face challenges our founders could never have imagined when Sigma Gamma Rho began. Still, such challenges provide the sorority with opportunities to uphold their vision. Established in 1939, the Rhoer Club Affiliate is a group of girls, ranging from ages 12-18. Through this club, young ladies work to support each other and their communities, while learning social, emotional, and professional skills and receiving mentorship from the women of Sigma Gamma Rho.
Philo Affiliates
Originally, these “friends of Sigma” were organized into auxiliaries that had various names until 1954 when the sorority officially approved the Philo Affiliate. In 1980, the Philos were organized on a national level and have since grown to represent women organized on a local and regional level. The Philos, which means “friend,” have contributed countless hours of service and thousands of dollars to Sigma Gamma Rho’s aim to enhance the quality of life within every community.
Rhosebud Club
The Rhosebud Club is an affiliate group of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. consisting of girls, ages 8 through 11. Delicate like the petals of a rosebud, this group is handled with special care and attention.
Sigma Gamma Rho seeks to play a role in helping to cultivate girls as they grow into young women who are well-rounded and will embody the qualities needed to be good students and productive citizens.
