The Delta Mu Sigma chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has been serving the Orlando metro area for nearly 50 years. United in sisterhood, the women of Delta Mu Sigma continuously strive to meet the Sorority's motto, "Greater Service, Greater Progress." Through consistent involvement in the Operation BigBookBag, Hattie McDaniel Cancer Awareness, and many other initiatives, these women of Sigma Gamma Rho have helped the people of Orlando achieve healthy generations, healthy choices and healthy lifestyles. Delta Mu Sigma proudly serves as the advising chapter for the Lambda Mu (University of Central Florida) and Omicron Lambda (Rollins College) chapters.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was founded at Butler University in 1922 and continues to make positive impacts in communities worldwide.
In January 1974, at the Florida Area Meeting of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority,Incorporated held in Tallahassee, Florida, the Regional Syntaktes Verneka Silva reported a list of cities that had been identified as key cities in Florida without a chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho. Orlando was one of the cities listed.
